Savvy Shopper: Tips to reduce your electric bill this summer: Ceiling fans
If you do not already have ceiling fans, consider installing a few. They can easily cool your room by 5 degrees. They will help circulate the air and disperse that cool air throughout the room. They use minimal energy and offer a great payout when it comes to cooling your home. If you do have ceiling fans, have different rotation options on the blades. Do counter-clockwise for spring and summer; it will force the air down to help cool the home. In the winter, change the rotation to reverse, which will pull the air up, and disperse the heat out.
